New photography course Open Morning
New photographic course with qualification and exhibition to be launched by JAM on the Marsh and the Romney Resource Centre!
JAM on the Marsh (JAM) and the Romney Resource Centre (RRC) are set to launch a new photographic course, led by New Romney photographer Susan Pilcher, specifically aimed at giving people from the Marsh, aged from 16 to 22, a Bronze Arts Award; a Level 1 qualification on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). The Arts Award qualification is designed to inspire individuals to grow their arts and leadership talents. Most importantly, it aims to support and encourage people of all levels and abilities, and from all backgrounds and cultures, to engage and participate in the arts. JAM and the RRC will enable you to achieve a national qualification that will build confidence, while equipping you with life skills that will support both further education and future employment.
This new initiative builds on a successful pilot that JAM and the RRC ran this year, which culminated in an eleven-day exhibition at The Assembly Rooms, New Romney as part of JAM on the Marsh, in July. Both organisations firmly believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to high quality learning experiences, leading to practical achievement and success for those who aspire to improve their skills and knowledge.
There are two Open Mornings coming up, on Sunday 21st October and Sunday 18th November, for those interested in taking part on the course, which starts in January 2019. Both will run from 10.30 – 12.30 and be held at the Romney Resource Centre, Unit 4 Mountfield Rd, New Romney. Come and meet Susan Pilcher and the team from both organisations, have a chat with some past and present students and find out how this amazing project can help you get your work publicly exhibited and earn you a qualification.
