Events 26 August 2019

Date: 26 Aug 2019

Time: 11.00am - 2.00pm

Summer Barbeque

Bank Holiday Monday 26th. August.  A very warm welcome to discover the 12th. Century Norman Church (opposite The Ship Inn).  BBQ, teas, coffee, soft drinks and refreshments.

The Church was the centrepiece of the novels by Russell Thorndike of Doctor Syn fame. The Vicar, genial, kindly, well loved.  Yet at times, the Vicar would break out into pirates' songs, firm favourates of Captain Clegg.

Discover the history of the churchyard graves and the people who lived here hundreds of years ago, with a visit to the Magistrates courts and prison opposite the Church, where smugglers were put on trial.

Location: St. Peter & St. Paul Church, Dychurch
Contact: John Walton
